4 month pediatrician visit

Well, we made it through the four month pediatrician visit. By the end we were covered in spit up, tears, and drool, but all the babies got a clean bill of health. Everyone is developing wonderfully, and we got permission to try out cereal with them if we want to. Considering that Lucas acts like a bottomless pit most days, we may start with him to see what he thinks about eating from a spoon.

2 weeks old - 5 pounds 4 ounces
4/29/10 One month old - 6 pounds 13 ounces; 18.5" long; 13.5" head circumference
6/3/10 Two months old - 9 pounds 8 ounces; 21.5" long; 14.5 head circumference
8/12/10 Four months old - 12 pounds 6 ounces; 24" long; 15.75" head circumference

Abby is now at the 25th percentile for weight and head circumference, and 50th percentile for height - all based on her actual age, not adjusted age.

Lucas is our big chunky monkey. He is now at the 50th percentile for all measurements!

Zoey is at the 5th percentile for weight and 25th for head circumference. She is not quite on the growth charts for height yet. She is our petite peanut!

Playdate

On Sunday the babies and I had a playdate with my friend's baby Harper. It was a special day because it was Harper's 2 month birthday, and it was the one-year anniversary of the embryo transfer that led to our triplets. Harper's mom, Christy, took my maternity pictures and she brought her fancy camera again for this outing.

Harper slept most of the time. Maybe at our next playdate the babies will actually play with each other.

Surprise Visitor!

We had a wonderful surprise visitor this weekend - Jason's brother Dane! Apparently he originally intended to go camping for the weekend, but steered his car in our direction, all the way from Michigan to Virginia. He showed up on our doorstep on Saturday morning with his dog, Magnus. He hadn't seen the babies since they were around 3 weeks old, so he had a lot of catching up to do with them. It was great to see him and we hope he'll be back to visit soon.

College game day

Jason and I have been collecting college onesies from our alma maters since before these babies were conceived. So far we have Wake Forest, Michigan, and Virginia. We still need U of South Carolina. Then again, we have 3 onesies for 3 babies so maybe that's enough.

We realized the other day we'd better have them wear the onesies soon, before they outgrow them!

Yesterday was denim shorts day, but Zoey's were too big for her, so she felt a bit left out in her pink pants.


This was Abby's response once we rescued her from tummy time.


"Hey guys, you know what would be fun to do today? Let's boycott our afternoon nap! After all, mom was just saying that she wished she could spend more time with us."


Zoey finally got the hang of the jumperoo once GrandMary had the brilliant idea to put a cushion under it so her feet could rest on something. The girl does not stop moving!

Today's discussion: jammies - sleep sacks or footed sleepers?




Well, I was feeling all smug about how we had two babies sleeping through the night, until last night happened. Abby and Lucas have been sleeping 10-12 hours a night fairly consistently - Abby for probably a month or more, and Lucas just in the last couple of weeks. Zoey still gets up twice per night but she is starting to have longer stretches of sleep. And then last night it was as if Zoey and Lucas had consumed 3 cups of espresso before bedtime. Zoey was up at 12am, and both of them were up at 3 and 4:30. sheesh.

Here is Lucas in his surf dude outfit. It was given to him 2 months ago and it finally fits him. cute.

Jump around!

We got the Rainforest Jumperoo from Craigslist awhile back, and this weekend we decided to get it out and see what the babies thought of it. It's a little early for them to really jump and play in it, but they seemed intrigued by having something new to sit in and look at. Well, except for Lucas, who cried because he couldn't reach the parrot. Poor guy.

Abby must have the longest legs, because she was almost able to touch the ground with her tippy toes. Even on the lowest height setting, no one could touch the floor.


Zoey's eyes got about as big as the frog's on the seat cushion when we sat her in it.


Next up on the craigslist search - an exersaucer. Then the baby gear takeover of our living room will be complete!
