Busy-messy weekend

We had a very busy and outdoorsy weekend here, now that the rain has finally stopped. On Friday afternoon I took the babies to a local moms of multiples playdate. We went to a playground and played on the swings until a rain shower ended our fun.

Thankfully, the rain stopped, and we were able to meet Jason at our free Friday evening concert series. We picked up dinner on the way there and had a picnic in the grass with the babies. (Actually, we tried to gobble down our food in the few seconds we had in between trying to corral the babies)

Time to start crawling in different directions!

Even though they went to bed well past their usual bedtime, Zoey still woke everyone up around 6am Saturday. sigh.

On Saturday morning, I picked up Our "new" play kitchen, given to us by a local mom of 5-year-old triplets. The babies love it.

This is amazing!

Saturday afternoon we went to our friends' house in the country. They have 100+ acres, with lots of room to run around and lots fresh fruits and veggies in their garden. The babies enjoyed eating grass, splashing in the baby pool, and playing with our friends' dog. In between chasing babies, we managed to pick a few strawberries and eat a burger or two.

Playing in the baby pool without swimsuits. Oops.

Even though we got home past their bedtime, we had to give them a bath due to the vast quantities of grass and mud. They enjoyed splashing in the tub and went to bed tired and happy. They "slept in" till 6:30 on Sunday. yippee.

Then today was a combination of mowing the lawn, unpacking & organizing, cleaning, and doing errands. Oh yeah, and taking care of babies.

Whew! Weekends like this make me tired and sore - I always wake up achy from head to toe after big outings. It's so physically intense to load and unload the babies from the car and strollers, lug along their gear, and chase them around, all while trying to have conversations with friends and eat a meal. I'm not complaining though - it's so great to be able to get out and about after a long winter!
