Girls weekend

We tried something new this weekend. Jason went out of town to a family reunion and took Lucas with him, and I stayed home with the girls (we were afraid it would be too crowded/hectic to bring all 3). I missed my guys terribly, but I had a fun weekend with the girls. Taking care of two babies is a little easier than 3, and it helped that neither of them is crawling yet. Here's an overview of our weekend activities:

Friday playtime

Saturday
Good morning!

In the produce section of the grocery store. I wish this store had carts that would hold two babies up top. The double snap n'go is very hard to maneuver. I also wish we had a better double stroller.

I'm trying to imagine what Zoey is thinking here...

Sunday
Cuddling with Casey

People-watching at the bagel shop. Here's a sample of the questions I was asked about the babies: "do twins/triplets run in your family?" "are they related?" "are they identical?" "you've got your hands full, don't you?" sheesh.

After we got home from the bagel shop we took the dog for a walk, since the girls were already in their carseats.

Avocado lunch/facials

Abby preferred to eat her sock rather than take an afternoon nap

The guys finally got home around 3:30 on Sunday. The babies were excited to see each other and their missing parents. Stay tuned for a post all about Jason's weekend...

Happy Thanksgiving and 8 Months Old

We have so much to be thankful for this year! First on the list is our healthy 8-month-old babies, of course. But there are lots of other things too...

...like a beautifully set table ready for a Thanksgiving feast at GrandMary and Grandpa Gene's house. We are so thankful that they moved up here to be able to help with the babies.

The babies were thankful for the fun toys at GrandMary & Grandpa Gene's house.

For their first course, the babies had pureed green beans. They weren't really thankful for those.

After dinner, GrandMary and Grandpa Gene gave a piano concert. Abby (held by Peter) and Zoey (held by me, who was taking the picture) loved listening to the concert in the beautiful music room & library. Everyone was thankful that we have so much musical skill and talent in the family.

Zoey was so inspired by the concert that she wanted to play too.

One more try to get them to eat their Thanksgiving dinner.

It's the first meal they've refused to eat.

Nope, not feeling thankful for pureed potatoes and turkey at all.

One last play session before bed. The babies are thankful for all the wonderful toys and clothes that have been passed down to them from other babies.

You know it's time for bed when you fall into the toy box.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

trouble uploading Flip video?

has anyone out there in the blog world had trouble uploading their Flip videos to blogger? We haven't been able to do it lately, and I thought it was the Flip software, but I just uploaded a video to Facebook just fine. So maybe it's blogger that's the problem. Any tips?? (guess I could check the help menu too...)

Group playdate

We had a fun group playdate this evening. Our friends Becky and Chris had several couples with young children over for pizza and socializing. We were nervous because it was dangerously close to witching hour (4-6pm) but it had been so long since we had seen everybody that we decided to risk it. The babies did great and were very social. They enjoyed watching the bigger kids and getting lots of attention from the grown-ups. We got them into the car just as they were melting down, and they went right to bed when we got home. whew!

Jen with Ruby and Clyde. Lucas can't wait to play with Clyde as they get older!

On the move

Whether, as a group...

Or, on their own.....,

The trio is moving and shaking. Look out!
